We now offer cabochons, finished jewelry and carvings of Jadeite, all from China but the origin of most jadeite used in China is at the border with Myanmar (Burma). Our cabochons are well polished on both sides and have pure green tones. Of the two types of jade, Nephrite and Jadeite, the latter is the preferred jade and offers the better colors and translucency used for fine works of art and jewelry. Jadeite is perhaps the most durable gemstone due to it’s structure of interlocking crystals, with no cleavage or brittleness associated with most gem materials. It’s hardness and strength combined with pleasant colors make Jadeite a gemstone desired by civilizations thousands of years old.
