Unusual habit for Aquamarine, this excellent specimen is from a small producing mine in Espirito Santo, Brazil. Tapered crystals with white to deep blue tips, cut gems from this mine are some of the best of Brazil. Excellent displays from top and bottom. Click on picture to see both views. Flawless, brilliant light blue Aquamarines with Orthoclase Feldspar, a very fine group and excellent example of gem crystals found in pegmatites. Two cloudy but beautiful blue Aquamarines with smaller ones in quartz, from a very rare locality. Only a very few matrix Aquamarines may ever be found at this locality due to the tropical climate that has weathered the deposits.
Mined in the 1960's, this doubly terminated Aquamarine is unusual in that the main crystal sheared during formation, and was healed while in the pocket. Excellent color, complex termination.
