Magnetite crystals with unusual velvet appearance. Strongly magnetic. Sharp crystal form, with smal small quartz crystals. Matrix is combination of calcite and magnetite. The small calcite crystals that are pried loose stick to a magnet die to inclusions of magnetite.
Classic locality Tsumeb started in the 1860's with the working of "Green Hill," a huge hill composed principally of Malachite. This specimen was recently brought to market from the widow of a former mine worker. Shows some beautiful botryoidal florettes (chaoyant) and mamillary formation. This is a museum caliber specimen.. 925 grams
Huge well formed crystal from a pegmatite in Brazil. Ce(PO4) and may contain Lanthium, Thorium, Uranium, and other rare earths. Slightly radioactive, This is museum quality. Click on picture to see other view.

We have acquired a few specimens of Pentagonite, a dimorph of Cavansite. Both are Calcium Vanadium Silicates, the former being the high temperature much rarer mineral. This specimen is Andesite (volcanic intrusive rock) with brilliant pure blue crystals in a well protected vug.Compare at $500 or more with other dealers. Natural geologic feature of pyrite in black shale concretion. These concretions are found in sizes as large as 5 feet across, but few have the showy pyrite and small sizes like these are even rarer. We predict that this new find will be quickly exploited and become a rarity in the near future. flattened egg shape.

Very large concretion with distinct layers of pyrite crystals. How these formed is really unique. Bubbles of HS gas (from rotting organic material in the mud) at the bottom of a sea(later forming black shale) reacted with the iron and solidified in the mud, later to be found as concretions in the black shale. There won't be a lot more of these because they are found only at the exposures on the co
